The Service
PocketNum provides a free online calculator that estimates the likelihood of a school closure ("snow day") based on publicly available weather forecast data. The service is provided for entertainment and general planning purposes.
Predictions Are Estimates Only
Every percentage shown by the calculator is an estimate generated from forecast data and a simplified model. Weather forecasts change, and school closure decisions are made solely by individual schools and districts. We do not announce, confirm or guarantee any school closure. Always rely on your school or district's official channels for closure decisions, and never make safety decisions — such as whether to travel — based on this site.
Weather and Location Data
Forecast data is provided by Open-Meteo and ZIP code data by Zippopotam.us. We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or availability of their data.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse this site, including attempting to disrupt its operation, scraping it in a way that imposes an unreasonable load, or misrepresenting its predictions as official announcements.

This site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of Liability
